About
I am deeply grateful to my parents and grandmother for encouraging my journey in music; and to my wife, Chris, for her loving support.
Starting with piano at age 8, I became an avid keyboard sight-reader and accompanist for choirs in school.
In Arcadia High School (Southern California) I was both accompanist and vocal soloist, and graduated to primarily voice in Pomona College (Claremont, CA), where I gave a senior recital in voice. During that time I decided to make music a lifetime avocation, since other forms of income seemed more promising :-)
As a Coast Guard officer for 6 years after College, I sought the familiar comfort of music, finding churches a great venue for performance and meaningful interpretation. I have been a paid soloist in various churches ever since, directed several church choirs, and performed at funerals and weddings across the country including Camden area, New Jersey; Metro Philadelphia; Raleigh, North Carolina; St. Louis, Missouri; Long Beach, California, and now Lake Oswego, Oregon (the latter since 2000). I also had the privilege of singing at the Thanksgiving Mass with the American Church in London at St. Peter's for several years in the late 90's when my career with IBM took me abroad.
I am truly devoted to bringing love and meaning, through the spirit of music, to the events in which I participate. The feedback from my clients shows that this sense of depth, interpretation, personal caring, and love does in fact transcend all other means of communication. It is an honor and privilege for me to be able to participate with the meaningful events in families' lives in this way.
